The Home Rule Music Festival returns to The Parks at Walter Reed for its fifth anniversary celebration on June 20, 2026. One of the DMV’s most unique cultural festivals, Home Rule blends jazz, go-go, funk, hip-hop, art, film, and community programming into a free, family-friendly event that celebrates the past, present, and future of Black music in Washington, D.C.

The 2026 theme, “Cosmic Celebration”, honors the rich legacy and future of Black music with legendary performers, emerging artists, youth showcases, local vendors, live art, food trucks, and community-driven experiences throughout the day. The festival continues its mission of preserving and elevating D.C.’s musical culture while creating space for the next generation of artists and creatives.
