Madeline Hawthorne Winter Tour

February 9, 2025 By Anthony Washington

MADELINE HAWTHORNE SHARES NEW SONG “GHOST IN A SHELL” – LISTEN

SONG FOLLOWS 2024’S ACCLAIMED TALES FROM LATE NIGHT’S & LONG DRIVES

WINTER TOUR KICKS OFF JANUARY 30 IN COLORADO SPRINGS

“This is a song my husband and I wrote together while I was on a break from the road. We had several close friends go through difficult breakups around that time and it was a painful experience for both of us. We decided to write a song from the perspective of someone losing their partner to another woman, Jolene. It’s our take on Dolly Parton’s hit song ‘Jolene.’” – Madeline Hawthorne

“a trek through excellent storytelling”

– AMERICANA HIGHWAYS

“rugged twang and literate storytelling”

– MAGNET

“She’s been crushing rootsy tunes”

– NO DEPRESSION

“powerful and unbridled”

– RELIX

Madeline Hawthorne’s new song “Ghost in a Shell” was inspired by close friends going through difficult breakups and was penned together with her husband, during a short break in her touring schedule “The song puts you in a dream-like state,” she says,. It also harkens back to 70’s era pop, rock and folk recordings. I thoroughly enjoyed producing this track, and I hope you enjoy listening.”

“Ghost in a Shell follows 2024’s release Tales From Late Nights & Long Drives produced by the famed Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and recorded at Bear Creek Studios near Seattle, WA. The album recieved wide praise from outlets including Whiskeyriff, No Depression, Relix, Americana Highways, MAGNET and more.

Hawthorne will kick off her winter tour on January 30 in Colorado Springs and will bring Madeline and her band throughout the Rockies and Pacific Northwest. All tour information and up to date news can be found at madelinehawthorne.com.

About Madeline Hawthorne

The miles we travel make up the stories we tell.

The soles of your favorite boots or the tread on your prized car’s tires soak up the experiences and wisdom of the road under your feet. Born in New England, based in Bozeman Montana, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Madeline Hawthorne pens the kind of tunes you listen to on a cross-country trek to start anew or in the dead of night when you just need a reminder that somebody’s listening.

In this respect, her 2024 independent album, Tales From Late Nights & Long Drives, serves as a fitting soundtrack to life’s trip.

“It’s the perfect road trip record,” she affirms. “It was mostly written while I was on tour. If the songs were written at home in Montana, I took inspiration from journal entries and memories of my travels. This is me stepping onto the stage with more miles under my boots. I’m giving into the moment and the melody to tell a story. It’s like eleven different versions of me—a woman I could have been, a woman I perhaps thought I was, and a woman I hope to be someday.”

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
