Roots Picnic 2020 is definitely worth the road trip from Baltimore or DC. The Roots have always had their finger on the pulse of the music scene. They often work with up and coming artist before they break through and become stars. They are one of the most respected group of musicians around. That is one of the reasons why they are able to pull off some of the most creative festival lineup’s each year. This year is no different.
The Scene
The location of this years Roots Picnic is once again at The Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, PA and the festival will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2020. In addition to the music stage, there will be three live podcast featuring Questlove Supreme, CRWN with Elliott Wilson, and The Read. Also the crew from D’usse’Palooza will be bringing their well known House Party to Roots Picnic 2020
One of the most creative aspects of this years lineup is Black Thought & J.Periods Live Mixtape featuring Griselda, Raekwon, & Ghostface Killa. If you love Hip Hop and bars for days, this is for you. And if you love r&b and soul music, The Roots present Soul with special Guests Musiq Soulchild, SWV & Brandy is for you. Reminder, these are not the headliners. Crazy, right?
