6 Festivals To Enjoy This Weekend, Including Taste of DC & Days of Darkness Festival

Get it in while you can. Festival season is coming to an end, and that prime late summer/early fall perfect temperature weather is no more. You know me, that does not mean you can’t find a festival, throw on a few layers, and go out and have a good time while supporting the local business community.

This weeks list includes a couple of metal music festivals and four food and beverage festivals.

The regular shift to colder weather during this time of year is one of the reasons that this weeks list is shorter than normal. Another reason, at least in the DC metro area, is because of Howard’s Homecoming. In addition to the events planned by the University, dozens of events will be taking place this coming weekend throughout the DC metro area organized by groups not affiliated with HU. Howard’s homecoming takes up a lot of space throughout the city.

Days of Darkness Festival is one of the two music festivals on this weeks list. The festival will take place at both Rams Head Live and Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore this weekend. Fatality Fest DC will take place at VFW Post 9274 in Falls Church, VA and at The Pinch in DC. Fatality Fest DC is still trying to work out their lineup for the first day of their festival from the research that I have done. Before purchasing tickets I would wait to see what’s posted.

There are three food and beverage festivals in DC that made this weeks list. They are DC Food Truck Tasting Festival: Curbside Cookoff, Taste of DC, and Rock The Core Cider Festival. The lone food and beverage festival on the list that is not in DC is Oyster Fest which will take place in St. Michaels, Maryland for those of you who want to get out of the metro area and take a nice road trip.

For more festival details see below.

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
