October 12, 2018 By Anthony Washington

You don’t find many music festivals that go so well that four months later the organizers decided to do it again. Well that’s exactly what’s going to happen this weekend. Hyfest #2 will take place this Saturday, October 13 at Polka Dot Park in Hyattsville, MD.

Hyfest is organized by a group of musicians and residents of Hyattsville. The point of the festival is to highlight the local music and arts scene.

The festival kicks off at 4pm with the first band set to go on at 4:30 p.m. A $10 donation gets you into the festival. 5 bands (Staycation, The Effects, The Osyx, Spice Boyz, Just Rock performers), 1 food vendor (Fresh Afghan Cuisine food truck), and 2 breweries (Denizens Brewing Co., Streetcar 82 Brewing Co.) will provide the music, food, and drink offerings. There will be other vendors on hand too.

This event is a Family-friendly event and kids under 18 get in for free. You can find out more about the festival by clicking here.

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
