Announced: AFRAM 2018 Lineup Featuring Ella Mai, Dru Hill, Jacquees, and VaShawn Mitchell

June 18, 2018 By Anthony Washington

AFRAM, formerly known as the African American Festival, will return this year and it will be a two day affair. The festival will take place August 11-12 at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. I was hoping that the festival would return to the parking lots of Camden Yards/M&T Bank stadium. Having it located in the center of the city would make the festival equally accessible to all residents of the city. However, I am just happy the festival is still going and has expanded to a second day after being shortened to one day last year.

When it comes to headliners, the festival significantly stepped it up this year with rising star Ella Mai, whose hit Boo’d Up has been in regular rotation on radio and has had millions of streams and views online, headlining the festival as she ventures across the US on a SOLD OUT tour. Joining her as headliners is Baltimore’s very own Dru Hill, Jacquees, and VaShawn Mitchell.

More details to come as more information is made available. In the mean time, visit the AFRAM website to learn about other opportunities to participate in and support the festival.

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
