23rd Capital Jazz Fest Line-up Announced

The 23rd Annual Capital Jazz Fest, the jazz festival for jazz lovers in the DMV, has announced it’s festival line-up. The festival will take place from Friday, June 5 – Sunday, June 7 at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Starting on Friday, June 5th, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will headline “Friday Night Soul” on the pavilion stage. An additional act will be announced at a later date. The evening will be hosted by comedian Tony Richards. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 6th, the gates will open at 10:00 a.m. and performances will begin at 12 p.m. On the Pavilion Stage hosted by Tony Richards performers will include Boney James, Roy Ayers, Patti Austin, Earl Klugh, Najee, Harvey Mason, and the “Catch A Rising Star” showcase featuring Carol Riddick.

Also performing on Saturday, June 6th on the Symphony Woods stage hosted by Cayman Kelly will be George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Chrisette Michele, Ruben Studdard, Deborah Cox, Rahsaan Patterson, & an additional act TBA.

On Sunday, June 7th, the gates will open at 10:00 a.m. and performances will being at 12 p.m. On the Pavilion Stage hosted by Tony Richards performers will include Kenny G, Jonathan Butler, Michael McDonald, Naturally 7, Nick Colionne, José James, and the “Catch A Rising Star” showcase featuring James Lloyd.

Also performing on Sunday, June 6th, on the Symphony Woods stage hosted by Cayman Kelly will be Eric Benét, Meshell Ndegeocello, Morris Day & The Time, Johnny Gill, Amel Larrieux, Atlantic Starr.
