Artscape, Americas largest free art festival, took place from July 19-21. The theme for this years Artscape was an international theme. The festivals tag line “No Passport Required” relates to the 30 different countries that were celebrated throughout Artscape.

This year, Artscape covered 19 city blocks. Throughout the weekend, concerts; performance art; exhibits; vendors; art markets; film; comedy acts; street theatre, and much more could be found indoors and outdoors. Many festival attendees took advantage of the indoor venues because of the excessive heat during this years festival. On Friday and Saturday, the heat index reached over 105 degrees and Sunday was well into the 90’s. It was obvious that the heat played a factor in this years attendance. The crowd was visibly smaller then years past.

Despite the heat, those in attendants seemed to enjoy themselves and all that the festival had to offer. Hats off to everyone who braved the heat, and attended the 32nd annual Artscape.

Enjoy the photos!

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
