Rapper Wale performs at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.

Wale brought his current tour to Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD on Wednesday night. Backed by legendary D.C. go-go band the Uncalled 4 Band, the D.C. native played before a large crowd of faithful fans who hung on his every word as he ripped through his set.

Baltimore was the eighth stop of thirteen dates that the rapper currently has scheduled for his winter tour. Opening up for Wale were, D.C. go-go band Mambo Sauce, Fat Trel, Tiara Thomas, and Black Cobain.

Born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, Wale was discovered by producer Mark Ronson in 2006. One of the first songs to gain the rapper a lot of attention was Dig Dug (Shake It). The song was put in to heavy rotation on radio in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (D.M.V) and is one of the most requested songs by a D.C. artist on D.C. radio in history. Since then, it’s been a steady climb to fame for Wale.

From winning the D.C. Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award in 2006 to being featured in the “Unsigned Hype” column of The Source to signing with Allido Records and Interscope, Wale seems to be doing everything right to continue his growth and build his fan base.

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
