Madison Glorious Sounds Brass Band

September 28, 2008 By Anthony Washington

The Madison Glorious Sounds Brass Band of the United House of Prayer located at 1721 1/2 7th Street, can often be found playing at the corner of 7th and F streets, at Penn Quarter, in NW Washington, D.C. On September 13, 2008, I found the band playing at Art’s on Foot in Washington D.C.

The band plays all over the city, through out the year, at a variety of festivals and events. Their bright sounds can often be heard echoing from blocks away as they play renditions of a variety of gospel spirituals.

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
